Microwave spectroscopy of a hybrid superconductor-semiconductor transmon device is used to probe the ground-state parity of the Josephson junction quantum dot, in agreement with predictions of a single-impurity Anderson model with superconducting leads. Quasiparticle dynamics can be resolved accross the parity phase boundaries.

We introduce a novel error correcting approach for quantum annealers that uses machine learning to adjust the input Hamiltonian so as to maximize the probability of finding the solution. In our experiments, the method improves the performance of annealing by up to three orders of magnitude.
